A weather lesson for your day…

I got myself out and walked the golf course Monday. I need to be walking again.  It was 22°. But I dressed warmly, it wasn’t bad at all for the first time back on the course since Sept. 15 of last year.  I got in 1.73 miles and was really proud of myself.

So yesterday I was going for two days in a row!

It was a bit earlier than than the day before, the temp was 37°. That’s 15° warmer than the day before.  I had on the same clothing when I grabbed my poles and stepped out the back door and walked through the back gate. It was then I  felt the wind.  But I can’t turn back now.

So I headed out on my normal route. I thought I was going to die before I got back!

I’m here to tell you 37° with a 17 mph wind is way worse than 22° and no wind.

I have a new appreciation for polar explorers.

And before the day was over, the wind and blowing dust had closed US Highway 54 into Kansas. Oh the joys of living in the Panhandle.
