Driving to Wichita the other day and listening to KJIL, TobyMac was preachin’. Some call it singing, but it was really preachin’. His topic? The Promised Land.
Everyone knows what the Promised Land is, it’s where Charlton Heston was taking the Israelites after they escaped from Egypt, right? That time when they crossed the Red Sea on dry ground. Or it maybe its where we’ll see those streets of gold.
But as I listened to TobyMac sing about his Promised Land I realized you and I, we all have our own personal Promised Land.
TobyMac spoke of a hard life as he both wandered and wondered, looking for answers. I spent a lot of my life looking for answers as well; always looking but never finding.
Then there was a time when a Pastor showed me 1John 5.13, a verse that says, I may believe on the name of the Son of God and know that I have eternal life.
So Jesus is the answer.
My questions and the places I was looking for answers always changed, and yours probably do as well, but Jesus was the answer, and still is.
This crazy world gives us lots of questions, but as TobyMac sings, “the answers always stay the same.”
All l those years ago I found Jesus was the answer to all my questions.
Why don’t you trust him now?
