On February 22, 1980, my wife and I sat glued to the TV as a young US Olympic Ice Hockey team, against all odds, defeated the heavily favored, veteran Russian team for the Olympic Gold Medal.
The game at Lake Placid New York is known as the ‘Miracle on Ice.’ It was one of the biggest upsets in sports history.
We remember vividly the feelings we had of excitement, joy, and happiness as we watched those boys confidently pull out the win.
We remembered those feelings last night (actually this morning) in the dark of our living room as we watched President Trump assemble his team and family on the stage at the Palm Beach County Convention Center and speak to the nation.
He had confidently led his team to a stunning victory…against all odds.
Congratulations, Mr. President!
