Yesterday, I had a doctor’s appointment and he told me, “walking is the best medicine you can take.”
Thinking about that, I thought about some of the really expensive medicines I take. And, I know most of the money goes to pay for all those ads you see on TV. Then it occurred to me walking doesn’t cost me anything.
This morning, I got in 1.75 miles and was able to spend a little time at my “thin place,” No. 5 Tee Box. (Images attached)
While there I did a good deed. You’ve heard the old saying about leaving a place better than you found it? Isn’t that in Proverbs somewhere? We’ll it can apply to many things, your family, your work, your team, your church, your picnic area, you name it. It should be a goal to leave things better than you found them. Now that I think about it, I think it was my Mom who said it!
Well for me this morning it applied to No. 5 Tee Box. You see the wind had blown the nice Rubbermaid trash can over and the top was in one place and the barrel was over in the trees. There were a few broken bottles laying around.
My first thought was, “There are people who get paid to clean things like this up.” And then the thought about leaving a place better than you found it, hit me.
So, I put the top back on the trash can, put it back where it was supposed to be and picked up the empty bottles.
I felt so much better about myself 😎. I don’t know if it’s because I walked, or the trash can thing.
Have a great day.
