Parkinson’s Foundation Conference

Aspen Balthazor, DPT was a featured speaker at the recent Parkinson’s Foundation Conference at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita KS. Her topic was, ‘Exercise 101 For PD.’ 

 Aspen is the owner of Joy Of Movement (JOM) a mobile Outpatient Physical & Speech Therapy Private Practice serving Wichita and the surrounding area.  She is also a Coach for Rock Steady Boxing, an organization for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease.

 Over 200 attendees were welcomed by Michelle Shepherd, Community Education & Outreach Coordinator for the Parkinson’s Foundation. 

 There were vendor tables provided by organizations who provide services and products for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease.

 Assisting with the conference from JOM were: Angela Danielson, Office Administrator, Jada Hoch, PTA for JOM and Coach at Rock Steady Boxing, Emily Pauly, COTA, providing wellness/respite services for JOM and Coach at Rock Steady Boxing, Kristin Colin MA, CCC-SLP Speech Therapist for JOM.

 Helping at the JOM/Rock Steady Boxing tables were Tenley Balthazor, and assisting arriving attendees was Camden Balthazor, making this a family affair.

 Attending the conference were Don and Joyce Ukens of Hooker OK.  Full disclosure, Aspen and Angela are their daughters.
