A lesson…

St. Andrews Harbor

One of the great things about being in Scotland may appear to be a little thing.  But I read somewhere that someday the little things become the big things.

The thing this morning was taking Eliza (we call her Ellie) to School in St. Andrews. It’s about a seven Mike drive and always a pleasure. She thinks of me as the chauffeur, I think of her as the young lady of the manner.

She got out of the car when I stopped on the ancient Pends just ourside St Leonards School. She got her bags and clarinet from the back seat, wished me a good day, and said “Thank You” for the drive.

As she headed to school and I drove away, i realized she didn’t quite get the back door closed.

As I turned out of The Pends to leave the harbor I was able to pull over on the very narrow road to close the door.

As I got out to close the door, I saw this unique view of the harbor.

Had Ellie closed her door properly I would have never seen it.

Thank you Ellie.
